The 21st edition of the LED Expo was successfully held in New Delhi from November 14-16. Often described as India’s most influential platform to source and trade lighting technologies, the exposition featured nearly 400 exhibitors from nine countries, several product launches and a future zone.

The UK is readying to import its lock, stock and barrel. A few countries are closely studying it with the intent of imbibing it.

With the country's overall lighting market valued at Rs 100 billion currently, there is ample room for further growth in the LED segment, says Rakesh Zutshi, President, Electric Lamp and Component Manufacturers' Association of India (ELCOMA) & Managing Director, Halonix Technologies.

Finally, Goods and Services Tax (GST) has arrived on July 1, 2017, and the first batch of filing of monthly returns is underway in August 2017. Like any other changeover, GST is also facing its initial pangs.

The continuous awareness drive run by the government through twitter, town halls etc., has been truly helpful in the first filing of monthly returns which began in August.

LED summit, the premier forum for the LED industry was flagged in the presence of several stake holders of lighting industry. Led Expo, India’s renowned fair for the LED lighting, components and technologies returned for its 16th edition from May 11-13 in Mumbai.
