ABB India inaugurated a new factory for the production of power distribution products in Nashik. Spread over five acres, the facility was inaugurated by Sanjeev Sharma, Managing Director of ABB in India in the presence of other dignitaries and customers from various sectors.

ABB India will provide solar inverters to 750 railway stations in northern India - one of the most used railway corridors in the world , carrying more than 8 billion passengers annually - to reduce dependence on traditional energy sources.

ABB India has surpassed the 5 GW milestone for the supply of solar inverters in the country. The company consolidated its market leadership for solar inverters contributing to approximately 40 per cent of the installed solar projects in the country at 13 GW.

These include traction, receiving and auxiliary substations with compact gas- and air-insulated switchgear, modular distribution switchgear, efficient and low noise level traction transformers, dry type auxiliary and rectifier transformers, motors, overhead electrification, integrated building and asset management solutions and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems. These help not only in improved performance but also cost efficiency.

ABB India reported results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017, posting consistent growth in its order book. In Q1 FY2017, ABB India posted a significant Y-o-Y increase in orders booked at Rs 2,342 crore and an order backlog of Rs 12,023 crore, as on March 31, 2017.
